President John F. Kennedy’s namesake grandson Jack Schlossberg and daughter Caroline Kennedy blessed Joe Biden with the Camelot endorsement at Tuesday night’s virtual Democratic National Convention.

‘Once again, we need a leader who believes America’s best days are yet to come, we need Joe Biden,’ Schlossberg said, after footage of his grandfather’s 1960 address before the DNC played.

Caroline Kennedy said she’d known Biden since 1974, when she served as a Senate intern.

‘He was a senator who cared, who led, who inspired,’ she said.

‘That’s why I helped choose him to be Barack Obama’s running mate in 2008,’ she continued.

After Caroline Kennedy and her uncle Sen. Ted Kennedy endorsed Obama during the contentious Democratic primary in the 2008 cycle, giving the senator from Illinois the Camelot glow, she served on Obama’s vice presidential selection committee.

Ted Kennedy served alongside Biden his entire time in the U.S. Senate.

Later she was selected to the United States’ ambassador to Japan, where she encountered Biden as vice president.

‘He stepped off Air Force Two wearing his aviator glasses and his big smile, radiating American optimism and generosity,’ she recalled.

She added that Joe Biden would ‘always put America’s interests first.’

Schlossberg chimed in and said that in 2020 the ‘future is on the ballot.’

‘For my generation it will define the rest of our lives,’ he said.
