Victoria spoke of the moment she feared the worst after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015.

Talking on the BBC special Dear NHS Superstars, Victoria said: “When I was 46 I was diagnosed with breast cancer.

“The overriding concern was, ‘Oh my god, am I going to die?'”

After undergoing a right-sided mastectomy, Victoria had further tests on her left breast after suffering dizzy spells.

Victoria said: “The atmosphere in the room changed.

“He looked at me and said, “I think we may need to do a CT scan on your body and brain.”

Victoria detailed the moment she feared her husband Mark would have to raise their sons by himself.

“I thought, ‘Okay, it’s spread. It’s spread to my brain. That’s it. There is no hope. That’s it’.

“Got home, and I said to Mark, ‘You might have to bring up the boys on your own.'”
