China FURY: Beijing erupts as US nears key deal with Israel ‘scandalous!’

Chen Weihua from the Chinese state outlet the China Daily described Beijing’s indignation: “This is scandalous and ungrateful. Chinese cities like Shanghai provided a safe haven to some 30,000 Jews fleeing Nazi Europe in WWII, but now Israel returns the favor by being a US poodle against China in 5G.”

Chinese state tabloid the Global Times has warned Israel’s cooperation with China could be in jeopardy because of the movements with the US over 5G.

The Global Times said: “In the future this may affect normal economic, trade and investment activities between China and Israel.

“China-Israel relations are unlikely to be substantially hit by groundless allegations by some senior US officials, but China should act more cautiously when trading with or investing in Israel.”

The Jerusalem Post reported the intention of Israel in following the US lead on using Huawei.

The Clean Network initiative is a combined multi-national plan to ensure high-risk Chinese companies, that are compromised by the Chinese government, do not commit cyber-espionage in the countries that have joined the initiative.

The following countries; Israel, Australia, Canada, Japan, Taiwan and the EU are partners with the US in The Clean Network initiative.

Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian responded by saying: “The practice of politicising the 5G issue is not conducive to the development of the technology, goes against the principle of fair competition and is not in line with the common interests of the international community.”

Mr Zhao said he believes there is a hidden motivation behind certain US politicians in calling for a Huawei ban.

Speaking to the China Daily he said: “We say no to the US bullying practices of interference with other countries’ 5G network construction and cooperation”.

China’s Global Times reiterated Mr Zhao’s disappointment that Israel was seeking to follow through with eliminating Huawei from its 5G network.

The communist state tabloid stated: “Given a limited size and population, Israel has to seek external partners for economic development and has thus attached great importance to cooperation with China, the second largest economy in the world.”

Last month, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered Huawei equipment to be removed completely from Britain’s 5G network by the end of 2027.

In doing so he risked the wrath of Beijing by signalling that the world’s biggest telecoms equipment maker is not welcome in the West.
