Neighbours spoilers: Paul Robinson's exit 'unveiled' as actor speaks out on career move

Neighbours’ Paul Robinson (played by Stefan Dennis) is one of the Australian soap’s most iconic characters, but the actor hinted his time to leave the show might be coming up. While chatting to Andi Peters on ITV’s Lorraine, he hinted there are other goals in his career he’d like to explore, which could include appearing in a couple of British classics.

Andi hinted: “You have said you’d like to play a Londoner because I gather there’s a British show you’d like to be in…”

Stefan chuckled: “I’m an actor, I’ll work on anything but it’d be fun to go and play a Londoner whether it be cockney or upper class London or an east ender, I don’t know!

“It’d be different,” he smiled.

After the BBC soap EastEnders was brought up, Stefan exclaimed: “I’d work on EastEnders, I think it’d be great!”

Stefan and Alison, who plays Carla Connor, go way back as they once starred together in Sky’s Dream Team, after the actor took a break from Neighbours for a whole decade between 1993 and 2004.

He moved over to the UK and played serial rapist, Dr Marcus McKenzie on Scottish soap River City.

He then went on to join the Sky production about Harchester United Football Club, where he and Alison shared scenes.

But after she joined the ITV cast and Stefan returned to Erinsborough, the pair have been on their separate ways ever since.

But could Stefan be looking to do a soap crossover?

He also touched on the fact Paul seems to be indestructible, narrowly avoiding every death scenario that’s come his way.

And there’s been quite a few over the years, where he has miraculously emerged unscathed.

“I think the most surprising thing about Paul is that he’s proven to be immortal,” Stefan laughed.
