Fall Guys on Xbox One and Nintendo Switch: Devs provide update on future platform releases

Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout is currently only available on a few platforms, meaning that there are a ton of players who have yet to experience the new Battle Royale mini-game extravaganza. And while the game’s formula is simple, that hasn’t stopped it becoming one of the most played titles on the likes of Steam and PS4. And with so much buzz surrounding, it would make sense that gamers on Nintendo Switch and Xbox One would want to know if Fall Guys is coming to their consoles soon too.

The good news is that the development team have not ruled it out and that suggests that Ultimate Knockout is not a fully-fledged PlayStation console exclusive.

The downside is that there are no current plans to port Fall Guys to Xbox One or Nintendo Switch in the coming months.

The latest update on the subject was shared via the game’s Twitter account, which has been dutifully answering fans questions over recent weeks.

The latest statement regarding Fall Guys coming to Nintendo Switch and Xbox One reads:

“Getting lots of questions about platforms – We’ve answered in a few places but once more for everyone:

“We’re focusing on PC & PS4 right now. We’d love to release on more platforms in future.

“I personally love the Skyrim memes; I hope we release on smart fridges too.”

So while Fall Guys won’t be coming to Switch or Xbox consoles right now, there’s a good chance something will be announced in the future.

For those who have yet to see the game in action, Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout drops 60 players into a selection of outrageous obstacle courses.

Inspired by TV shows like Takeshi’s Castle and Ninja Warrior, Players must survive each course to move to the next round and attempt to nab the golden crown.

A battle royale game with a difference, it’s a fun, colourful and unique take on a subgenre dominated by first and third-person shooters.

The only downside is that it’s currently only available on PS4 (where it’s now free with PlayStation Plus or as a Store purchase for £15.99) and Steam.

The Express Online asked developer Mediatonic if there are any plans to port Fall Guys to new platforms in the future.

“Ultimately we’ve built Fall Guys to be as accessible as we can so we’d love to get as many people playing as possible,” explains lead designer Joe Walsh.

“For now though we’re really only focusing on PS4 and PC. The hype is already much bigger than we could have imagined and I think we’re going to have our hands full as it is!”

A new Fall Guys update is going live this week, having been delayed by around 24-hours due to some last-minute testing.

The development team has confirmed a range of new changes are being worked on that could be released and available to download on August 13.

“We just made a last-minute fix to the patch. It should be good, but we want to retest things to make sure it’s super solid before we launch,” the latest message from the Fall Guys support team explains.

“If it passes all of the tests again, we should be confident enough to hit the button tomorrow.”
