Emmerdale spoilers: Vanessa Woodfield's fate 'sealed' in tragic off-screen revelation

Vanessa Woodfield (played by Michelle Hardwick) recently began treatment in Emmerdale after being diagnosed with stage three bowel cancer. However, with the actress’ maternity leave fast approaching, will Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) fiancée tragically die off-screen?

The mum-of-one has been absent from the village as she stays with her mum while recovering a course of chemotherapy.

While Vanessa’s away, Charity has been doing everything she can to ensure her adoption of Johnny goes ahead.

However, the Dingle matriarch failed to track down Johnny’s father Kirin Kotecha (Adam Fielding).

The charity was determined to have some good news by the time Vanessa returned home but she may have more pressing concerns to worry about.

“We need to change that,” Genevieve told Entertainment Daily.

With Vanessa’s exit sealed, will she learn her cancer hadn’t been diagnosed in time to save her?

Elsewhere in the village, Vanessa’s sister, Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) discovered she was pregnant.

After going to the hospital to receive treatment for her hand, Tracy was told she was expecting Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) baby.

Both Nate and Tracy were taken aback by the news and it wasn’t long before the farmhand blamed his girlfriend.

Tracy assured him she hadn’t planned on falling pregnant but their heated row led to some harsh words being exchanged.

In the heat of the moment, Tracy dumped Nate after realising he didn’t want the baby.

Will Tracy tell Vanessa her news or will she keep quiet while her sister battles cancer?

Emmerdale airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV at 7pm.
