Gwyneth Paltrow, Blythe Danner and Apple Martin on skincare

It was truly a family affair.

Gwyneth Paltrow was joined by her mother Blythe Danner, 77, and daughter Apple Martin, 16, to talk about two new products from her company, Goop.

The 47-year-old movie star and entrepreneur was joined in her garden by her mother and daughter – while filmed by her husband Brad Falchuk.

The trio sat down in Gwyneth’s garden at her home for the conversation about skincare and aging.

Apple asked grandma Blythe and mom Gwyneth a series of questions, with the first being: ‘What advice would you give your younger self?’

Blythe cheekily answered: ‘Grow up,’ and Gwyneth quipped: ‘Get your s**t together man!’

Apple asked: ‘Who taught you about skin care?’

Blythe, who donned a blue and white floral dress, said: ‘Actually, my mother.’

Apple asked her what her mother’s skincare routine like, to which Blythe said: ‘I think it was Vaseline.’

‘Really?’ Gwyneth said. ‘I feel like you were so natural with skincare. Like you never fussed in the bathroom, never had a big getting ready routine.’

Blythe said: ‘Well you know what, when you’re acting and your on sets, people are putting it on you all the time I was just always bored by it – doing it.’

‘I’ve always had a very minimal routine but I did get, because you have dry skin and I have dry skin, the idea of always having moisturizers,’ Gwyneth said.

‘Do you like lipstick?’ Apple asked, to which Blythe said: ‘Well I have no lips,’ then pointing to Gwyneth’s lips: ‘Thank God, you inherited your father’s lips. I do that awful thing –  the Lucille Ball – that I go outside my lines because I have no lips.’

Apple joked: ‘Lalo started the Kylie Jenner Lip Challenge!’

Talking skin: 'I've always had a very minimal routine ut I did get, because you have dry skin and I have dry skin, the idea of always having moisturizers,' Gwyneth said.

When Blythe asked what she did, Gwyneth said: ‘She said you started the Kylie Jenner lip challenge.’

‘Oh I had no idea. I was more with it than Kylie, what’s her name, Jenner?’

Apple asked: ‘At what age did you feel the prettiest?’

Gwyneth said: ‘I felt really great in my late thirties. I think aging is hard. It’s definitely a process I think when you see your face start to change. You don’t necessarily feel your most beautiful externally but the irony is that time in your life is when you actually like yourself and love yourself so you sort of internally feel really beautiful.’

Blythe added: ‘I think I felt prettiest at 50. And maybe because of what you just said.’

‘But I think that with age comes wisdom,’ Apple noted, to which Gwyneth said: ‘It does.’

Gwyneth has two kids with ex husband Chris Martin: Apple, and son Moses, 14; Gwyneth tied the knot with Brad, 49, in 2018.
