On November 3, US citizens are due to take to the polls to vote in the new president but Mr Trump has suggested the election should be postponed. Mr Trump is currently trailing behind in Democrat and presidential hopeful Joe Biden.
In a series of tweets, Mr Trump argued mail-in voting could lead to fraudulent votes and would make the results the “most inaccurate and fraudulent” election in history.
He said: “With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history.
“It will be a great embarrassment to the USA.
“Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???
“The [Democrats] talk of foreign influence in voting, but they know that Mail-In Voting is an easy way for foreign countries to enter the race.”
In response to Mr Trump’s hatred of postal voting, Mr Biden said: “Donald Trump voted by mail.
“You should be able to as well.”

Senator Mitch McConnell, the majority leader, added: “Never in the history of the country, through wars, depressions and the Civil War have we ever not had a federally scheduled election on time, and we’ll find a way to do that again this November 3.
“We’ll cope with whatever the situation is and have an election on November 3 as already scheduled.”
Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who were rivals during the 2016 Republican presidential nomination, both dismissed Mr Trump’s suggestion to delay the election.
Mr Rubio said: “We’re going to have an election, it’s going to be legitimate, it’s going to be credible, it’s going to be the same as it’s always been.”
With Mr Cruz agreeing: “I think election fraud is a serious problem. But no, we should not delay the election.”
So far, no major Republican figures have agreed with Mr Trump’s proposal but have noticeably avoiding criticising him.
Even the loyal Trump news broadcaster, Fox News, have condemned the president’s suggestion.
Fox News politics editor said: “It is a fragrant and flagrant expression of his current weakness.
“A person who is in a strong position would never, never suggest anything like that.
“So Trump may be making a tactical error here by further telegraphing his weak position in the polls and his weak position for re-election.”
