The Riverdale star suffered a head injury while on the set of Songbird in July 2020. “I split my head open yesterday,” he explained on his Instagram Story. “I don’t know if you guys can see that, but I have two stitches in there — metal stitches.”

Tony Hawk

The professional skateboarder revealed that he suffered injuries to his hand after a skating accident in a pool in June 2020. “The session was fun until I did a backside smith stall as a set up for a backside blunt, and suddenly found myself on the flat bottom with my fingers bending in new directions,” he explained via Instagram. His fingers experienced “extreme circulation loss,” but thanks to “expedited” hospital care, they were “back in place” within 30 minutes.

Halsey

The singer revealed in May 2020 that she broke her ankle after tripping over her open dishwasher door. “I was loading the dishwasher and I pulled the door down to load the dishwasher,” she said during an interview on Capital Breakfast. “And the kitchen floor was wet and I tripped over the dishwasher door. And after, you know, 2,000 live shows, where I’m jumping around for two hours, I finally fractured my ankle. In the kitchen. At my house.” She later clarified via Twitter: “I tripped over the open dishwasher door cause the kitchen floor was wet when I was loading the dishes and slammed my ankle bone into the metal and fractured it hahaha. … I was doing okay till I broke 2 toes on the other foot. So now I have a cast on left foot and 2 broken toes on right foot. Waddling like a penguin.” She went on to post a pic of her ankle via Instagram on May 25, and wrote: “I took my brace off my ankle cause it was itchy and now I need to put it back.”

Trista Sutter

The Bachelorette alum suffered a broken ankle while playing tennis with friends in February 2019. The injury required surgery to fix a broken tibia, torn ligament and syndesmosis tear. “Broken ankle and slits for eyes, but a heart SO full of gratitude for the care and generosity of my family and friends that it tends to roll onto my cheeks a lot lately,” Sutter wrote via Instagram. “It shouldn’t have to, but sometimes it takes something drastic (and really freaking painful!) to shine a light on what makes this life worth living…and that’s the people and the connections and the love. I’ve already said it but it can’t be said enough…thank you. Thank you thank you thank you.”

Dean Unglert

The Bachelorette alum was injured in a skiing accident while in the Swiss Alps in December 2019. “I was sending just a liiiiitle too hard and took a nasty spill which ultimately put me here,” he captioned an Instagram photo of himself from a hospital bed on December 23. “The swiss mountain rescue blew my mind today. It took me about an hour to flag someone down for help but once i did, i was airborne and in surgery in less than an hour.”

Susan Sarandon

The actress posted Instagram photos of a large welt on her forehead and a black eye following a fall in November 2019. “A little slip = concussion, fractured nose, banged up knee,” she wrote.

John Cho

The actor sustained a knee injury on the set of the Netflix series Cowboy Bebop in New Zealand and was flown to Los Angeles for surgery and “extensive rehabilitation.” Netflix announced production would shut down for seven to nine months while the star recovers from his injury. “‘Water can flow or it can crash.’ – Bruce Lee Thanks for all the well wishes everyone. Gonna be back and flowing in no time!” Cho tweeted to his fans on October 18, 2019.

Kevin Hart

The actor-comedian sustained serious back injuries after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda veered off a highway and landed in a ditch in the Calabasas neighborhood of Los Angeles in September 2019. His friend Jared Black was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident. Hart successfully underwent surgery later that week and was subsequently transported from the hospital to an in-patient rehab facility to recover.

Zac Hanson

The youngest Hanson brother was hospitalized in October 2019 after a motorcycle accident in Oklahoma. The band tweeted that Zac “ended up with three broken ribs, a broken collarbone, and a cracked scapula” but was expected to make a full recovery.

The Challenge: War of the Worlds 2 star revealed on Instagram in August 2019 that he went blind in one eye after a freak accident. “Thanks for all the messages and support I’ve got over the last couple days they’re all very much appreciated!” he wrote. “So yeah basically 2 eye surgeries later after a really unfortunate accident, I’ve lost all vision in my right eye as it got split in half, who would have thought a champagne cork would be the end of me.. But I still have 1 eye left, looking at the bright side of things.”

Brennin Hunt

In January 2019, Rent Live actor Brennin Hunt, who portrayed Roger Davis in the show, broke his ankle during the rehearsal run-through, the night before the live show. Therefore, Fox was forced to air rehearsal footage instead of putting on a live production the following night. Hunt, 33, appeared for the final number with his foot in a cast, resting on a chair. He also posted a video to his Instagram Story, saying, “I love these people so much They’ve showered me with love and kindness which is the essence of this musical. I am just truly honored and blessed to be part of this rent family.”

Wendy Williams

 The talk-show host announced that she had suffered a hairline fracture on her shoulder on a December 18, 2018, episode of her series, The Wendy Williams Show. Though she finished out the week of filming, a previously planned week-long hiatus of the production was extended so that she could heal. Williams has since delayed her return to the show multiple times.


Candace Cameron Bure

The Full House alum was hospitalized for a hand injury in December 2018 after she and brother Kirk Cameron got into a go-carting accident. “Our fun family day ended up with me in the emergency room. I got into a go-carting accident and my brother ran me over,” Bure told her fans via Instagram before she showed them a photo of her swollen hand. “We got the X-Rays back and I’m fine, I’m just really bruised, which is amazing to me.”

Jenelle Evans

The Teen Mom 2 star was transported to the hospital in October 2018 after she called 911 to accuse husband David Eason of attacking her at their home after a night of drinking. “He pinned me down on the ground in the yard, and I think I heard my f–king collarbone crack and I can’t move my arms,” Evans sobbed during the call, obtained by Radar Online. Although an ambulance was requested, it was later canceled and no police report was filed. She later told E! It was “a drunk and dramatic misunderstanding.” The TV personality also posted a video where she insisted to fans, “I’ve been in so many domestic violence situations in the past that I would not put up with it now. So I don’t know why you guys would think that I would continue to say in this relationship if I was being abused.”

The country singer slipped outside of her home in Nashville in November 2017, which resulted in a broken wrist and having to get 40 to 50 stitches in her face. “I’m still healing and not quite looking the same. I honestly don’t know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful,” Underwood advised her fan club members. “I am grateful that it wasn’t much, much worse.”

Phil Collins

The singer had to cancel two shows after he suffered an injury in June 2017. “Phil suffers from ‘drop foot’ as a result of a back operation which makes it difficult to walk,” his team stated in a Facebook post at the time. “He rose in the middle of the night to go to the toilet and slipped in his hotel room, hitting his head in the fall on a chair. He was taken to hospital where he had stitches for a severe gash on his head close to his eye and is recovering well. He will be kept under observation for 24 hours.”

The Twilight actress donned crutches to the 2013 Academy Awards after cutting her foot on a piece of glass. “She had sliced her foot and everyone was worrying about would she wear heels or flats or one heel, crutches or no crutches,” manicurist Ashlie Johnson told Us. “She tried so many options, she was really a trouper.”
