Today marks Queen drummer Roger Taylor’s 71st birthday. And to celebrate, Queen and Adam Lambert bassist Neil Fairclough and percussionist/singer Tyler Warren have virtually performed a cover of Rock It (Prime Jive), which can be viewed below. Taylor wrote the song for Queen’s 1980 album The Game, in which Freddie Mercury begins the track before the drummer sings the rest.
Wishing Taylor a very happy birthday today, Warren said: “I’m sure that the No 1 present you wished you’d get for your birthday was two knuckle heads to cover one of your songs.
“So guess what? That’s exactly what we did!”
The Queen and Adam Lambert band members performed remotely between the UK and US, playing multiple parts.
Warren’s incredible vocals sound very close to Mercury’s voice, which is unsurprising considering he’s a member of Queen Extravaganza, the official Queen tribute band.

Earlier this month, Fairclough featured in a new official Queen video celebrating the band’s Roadies in Lockdown.
In the behind-the-scenes footage, Bass Tech Jez Webb praised the Queen and Adam Lambert bassist’s talent.
He said: “He’s a lovely guy to work for, he’s got a great sense of humour.
“We just seemed to click, we sort of know what each of us is doing, it’s like a sixth sense.”
The Bass tech added: “Working with Neil is an absolute pleasure.
“He’s very talented to say the least, but with that talent he’s very modest.
“Hopefully I’ll do a good job and we’ll do many more shows together.
“Which would be nice because I’d like to see him get that solo right at least once!”
