TUI & Jet2 could cancel swathes of Spain holidays if UK ends quarantine-free travel

In the last few weeks alone, Spain has seen a huge spike in infection rates, with several municipalities being forced into varying levels of lockdown.

Yesterday, a Murcia tourist town became the first to be put back into “phase one” of lockdown, with residents being asked not to leave the area unless absolutely essential.

In the town of Totana, meetings with friends and family cannot exceed groups of 10, and restaurants must now only function at half capacity.

There are also restrictions on shops in the area, with small shops being forced to close, and larger retailers facing a 30 percent capacity reduction.
