J. Cole is now the father of two young boys, Page Six has learned. In an essay for The Players’ Tribune, called, “The Audacity,” J. Cole revealed he now had two children. The 35-year-old performing artist kicked off his personal essay by saying he learned he had become a father for the second time, and it honestly wasn’t a surprise.
Fans of the performing artist know he first married Melissa Heholt in 2015. Cole says he had been making some big changes to his life over the last few years, and he realized he was ready to become a dad.
According to the “4 Your Eyez Only” star, he had to decide between his love for basketball and rap, however, due to realizing his profound and deep love for rap music, he chose to put the dreams of basketball behind him.
Cole says it took a lot of his time and mental acuity to step out of his comfort zone, and he believed it would be worth it at the end, which wound up being the truth. Thus far, the names of his two children with wife, Melissa, haven’t been revealed.
It’s possible the revelation of his new child may have a role in the artist’s current inactivity in the rap game. For instance, on the 15th of July, it was reported that J. Cole wouldn’t be coming out with a new record for the foreseeable future.
Furthermore, this past week, J. Cole’s name was in the headlines for his short-lived feud with fellow rapper, Noname. It was reported first by Hot New Hip Hop that Cole released a new single that many believed was in direct relation to her.
As it was previously reported, one of the EARTHGANG members joked how J. Cole wasn’t going to come out with a new project anytime soon because he was having difficulty getting it through customs as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Even though Olu’s tweet was clearly a joke, many people on the internet took it seriously, a fact the Dreamville Records president, Ibrahim, referenced in one of his tweets. He confirmed there wasn’t a new project or even an interview coming out soon.

It’s possible Cole’s second child may have facilitated the rapper’s absence from the game for now.
