Debbie McGee tells co-star Neil Morrissey why she's 'never forgiven' him: 'I wasn't happy'

Debbie McGee, 61, has opened up on the latest episode of her Spill The Tea podcast about a grudge she has with good friend and co-star, Neil Morrissey. The Line of Duty actor appeared on the star’s latest offering this week, and she recalled a particular incident that made her unhappy with him.

She detailed how after the pair had wrapped filming on their 2018 BBC programme Pilgrimage, when Neil proceeded to taunt their WhatsApp group.

Debbie started: “There was one thing you did, not work-wise, but something that you did, that I wasn’t happy with you [about], Neil.

“And that was after we finished Pilgrimage, and we all kept in contact, which we still do a bit on our WhatsApp group… you couldn’t tell us what job you were doing.”

They later discovered that Neil had been working on the hit show Death In Paradise.

Debbie continued: “Of course I found out after it was Death in Paradise and you sent us pictures.

“We were all in the freezing cold in England, and they had flown you out early to the Caribbean or wherever it’s filmed to get a suntan!”

The late wife of Paul Daniels then suggested that Neil had taunted them with sun-drenched snaps.

She added light-heartedly: “You were sending these pictures back, ‘Look where I am guys,’ with your cocktail in your hand’.”

Debbie hit back playfully: “Exactly, Well I’ve never forgiven you!”

The pair have been good friends since they filmed Pilgrimage, which saw stars trek for 15 days in Spain.

Comedian Ed Byrne, ex-Gogglebox star the Rev Kate Bottley, M People singer Heather Small, journalist Raphael Rowe and JJ Chalmers, a former Royal Marines Commando who was wounded in Afghanistan, also took part in the programme.

Debbie was married to the late comedian Paul Daniels, who died in 2016 following a brain tumour.
