Fans have slammed Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s role in Aston Villa’s goal as they beat Arsenal on Tuesday night.
The relegation-threatened side managed a huge 1-0 win in the battle to stay in the Premier League courtesy of Trezeguet’s strike after a well-worked set piece from Villa.

After the match, footage emerged that showed Mings had managed to break away from his marker after distracting him with a well-timed joke.
And it was Aubameyang who was the victim. The two seemed to be speaking as they lined up for the ball to be delivered.
And Mings clearly said something to make the striker laugh, as he chuckled just as the ball was sent into the box.
The England international took the momentary distraction as an opportunity to dart to the near post, head the ball on and tee up Trezeguet for the winner.

Football fans fumed. One wrote on Twitter: ‘The U7s wouldn’t fall for that!’.
Another added: ‘I thought I had seen it all with professional footballers when they swapped shirts with their opponents at half time. Just when I thought they couldn’t be any more unprofessional. It’s a shame Roy Keane wasn’t one of the pundits on duty. He would have had a field day’.
A Tottenham fan weighed in, writing: ‘I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, playing for Arsenal is all about the clout. This is embarrassing.’
And an Arsenal fan was clearly unhappy with Aubameyang, commenting: ‘Embarrassing stuff from our club captain.’
The result saw Villa climb out of the relegation zone on goal difference heading into the last day of the campaign.
Meanwhile, Arsenal remain down in 10th with one game left. They are also now unable to finish above fierce rivals Spurs.
