NBA 2K20 update 1.14: PS4 and Xbox One patch notes news latest for today’s new release

Today’s NBA 2K20 update 1.14 is out now on PS4 and Xbox One and appears to include a number of changes.

The days of 20GB+ downloads are now behind us but gamers are still waiting around to find out what has been added.

The patch has been live for several hours and 2K has yet to share detailed patch notes covering what was included.

These are sometimes shared within the first 24-hours of a new patch going live and can usually be on 2K’s social media platforms.

This can include Facebook, Reddit and Twitter, although there have been times in the past where notes have not been released.

Bug fixes are already being flagged by the NBA 2K community but until we have an official confirmation, it’s hard to say exactly what has changed.

One user believes that the event glitchers bugs may have been removed, although this hasn’t been officially confirmed by 2K.

The new NBA 2K20 update has been released as the development gears up for its next annual launch.

NBA 2K21 will be released on September 4 for PS4, Switch and Xbox One, followed by PS5 and Xbox Series X versions go live at a later date.

2K Games recently announced who will feature on the cover of the next-gen versions of NBA 2K21.

The NBA star that will feature on the PS5 and Xbox Series X editions of NBA 2K21 is New Orleans Pelicans’ forward Zion Williamson.

Williamson, who was the 2019 number one overall pick, at just 19-years-old is already an NBA phenomena and is set to become a future superstar of the game.

Speaking about being picked as the NBA 2K21 next-gen cover star, Williamson said: “Being on the cover of NBA 2K has been a dream since I was a kid and to be the first NBA 2K21 cover athlete for the next-generation of gaming is really special.

“Since the day I joined Team 2K, I’ve wanted to make an impact on basketball culture both on and off the court, and being the cover athlete for NBA 2K21 on next-gen consoles lets me do that.

“I can’t wait to be part of this global phenomenon and hoop with all the ballers out there on NBA 2K21.”

2K has also confirmed plans to charge more for the next-gen versions of its annual basketball release.

The game will cost around $70 in the US, and £64.99 in the UK. That’s compared to a recommended retail price of $60 in the US and £60 in the UK for the current-gen version of NBA 2K21.

According to 2K, the new price will reflect the value being offered by the next-gen versions of the game.

“2K’s suggested retail prices for its games are meant to represent the value being offered,” reads a 2K statement.

“With nearly endless replay value and many new additions and improvements only possible on next-generation consoles, we believe our updated suggested retail price fairly represents the value of NBA 2K21.”
