Call of Duty Modern Warfare Season 5: Massive Warzone updates for PS4 and Xbox revealed?

New information has surfaced this week that suggests that Activision has big plans for Call of Duty Modern Warfare during Season 5, and for Warzone for later in 2020. As we head into August, developers Infinity Ward are expected to start hinting at what’s coming next. This will probably include news regarding the new Call of Duty game being shared within Warzone, as well as new content and map changes for Modern Warfare.

Small hints have been shared during recent updates, including new images of a re-opened Stadium.

There have also been teasers that a train will be running through the Verdansk map during Season 5, which would change a lot of the dynamics.

Providing a new way to traverse the map that is C4-proof would certainly change some player strategies.

And according to Dexerto, new Points of Interest have been found by dataminers that hint at some big changes coming to Warzone later in 2020.

These new POIs haven’t been found in the Modern Warfare game files, hinting at some big news for fans.

Instead, dataminers have been exploring what appears to be an Alpha version of the next Call of Duty game.

From what has been shared, the next COD game will be part of the Black Ops sub-series and will continue to support Call of Duty Warzone.

From what has been shared, the next COD game will be part of the Black Ops sub-series and will continue to support Call of Duty Warzone.

But when it does arrive, it could include an entirely new map, based on what has been found.

New POIs found in the game files suggest that a new map is coming to the game, perhaps connected to Urzikstan.

The amount of new POIs suggest that it will be a new map and that would make sense if Activision plans to support Warzone with content from a new game.

It would give the team the chance to try new things and use content and locations from the new game.

New POIs include places like Forest, Russia, Goldova, Battery, Sanatorium, Lake and Swamp.

It should be noted that none of this has been confirmed by Activision at this time and should be taken with a big pinch of salt.

There’s still plenty of time left to explore Modern Warfare and Warzone during Season 4 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

But it will be encouraging for gamers to find out that there are some big plans for MW and Warzone during Season 5 and beyond.

The current Battle Pass still has a few weeks to run and is expected to end in August 2020.

So there is still plenty of time to complete all the tiers and unlock the more interesting Blueprints and skins.

This weekend has also seen Activision launch a new Double XP event, making it easier to hit those higher tiers.

The Call of Duty support team has confirmed that this will remain in place until Monday, July 20, across all platforms.

It has also been confirmed that the recent Twitch Drops offered by Activision by watching enabled streams has been extended.

A message from the official Call of Duty Twitter page explains: “The issue preventing users from connecting their Twitch and Activision accounts has been resolved. We’ve extended the Twitch Drop through Tuesday. Thank you for your patience.”

The drops are now expected to end on Tuesday, July 21, 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC players.
