“We believe it was mid-afternoon when she disappeared, the idea perhaps being that the boat started drifting, it was unanchored, and that she mustered enough energy to get her son back onto the boat, but not enough to save herself.”
Tributes have been rolling in since Wednesday with Rivera’s colleagues, friends and fans alike sending her family their condolences and sharing their favourite memories of the “beautiful legend”.
She leaves behind her son Josey, parents Yolanda and George Rivera, brother Mychal and sister Nickayla.
