Readers may remember Ser Davos ventures through Westeros with a small bag around his neck which contains his finger bones in it.
Davos was involved in an accident whilst smuggling many years ago, but all he lost were his fingers – so now he treats them as a good luck charm.
But Reddit user joebiggs97 recently pointed out: “I am currently reading ADWD, and have just finished Melisandre’s chapter involving Mance. When she’s speaking about her sorcery, she mentions that using Rattleshirt’s bones helped.
“And what intrigued me when reading was that she said another thing she could use, ‘a bag of finger bones’.”
