David Beckham's devastating health confession exposed: 'I can't stop'

The former Manchester United and Real Madrid footballer became a global star due to his skills on the pitch, as well as his long-term relationship with popstar turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham. He has recently been back in the spotlight after posting adorable photographs of his family reuniting for the first time after the Government eased its tough lockdown restrictions as a result of the coronavirus pandemic. And although the pictures showed a happy, united family, David has been roundly targeted by them as a result of his OCD condition.

OCD – or obsessive compulsive disorder – is described by the NHS as a “mental health condition where you have recurring thoughts and repetitive behaviours that you cannot control”.

It leads many to have unpleasant thoughts and behaviours which are beyond the realms of resolving.

Despite opening up about the condition in 2006, MailOnline reported that Victoria often takes to social media – in particular Instagram – to lambast her husband.

Speaking about his OCD, MailOnline reported David said he had the disorder where he has to “have everything in a straight line or everything has to be in pairs”.

The 45-year-old admitted: “I’ll put my Pepsi cans in the fridge and if there’s one too many then I’ll put it in another cupboard somewhere.

“I’ll go into a hotel room and before I can relax, I have to move all the leaflets and all the books and put them in a drawer. Everything has to be perfect.

“I would like to [stop]. I’ve tried and can’t stop.”

Victoria – who rose to fame as part of Nineties pop group Spice Girls – has also commented on David’s difficulties, by claiming in the same article: “Everything has to match.

Victoria shared a snap with the caption: “So sweet how David lays all his clothes out ready for the morning.”

Her post was accompanied with a laughing emoji and a picture of his clothes.

David retired from football in 2013 after a glittering career in England, as well as stints playing for AC Milan, Paris Saint-Germain and LA Galaxy in the US.

He also amassed 115 caps for England and became a national hero during the 2002 World Cup qualifying campaign after netting a stunning, last-minute freekick against Greece to secure the nation’s place at the prized tournament.
