Lil Wayne Performs Powerful Tribute In Honor Of Kobe Bryant And Daughter, Gianna

The 2020 BET Awards was a virtual event this year due to the global crisis triggered by the pandemic. Enthusiasts could not be more excited about the BET Awards, which honor Black excellence in entertainment and sports.

One of the most appreciated moments was the performance of Lil Wayne, who made sure to honor the late Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Bryant, who passed away this year in the terrible helicopter crash.

Check out the video re-posted by The Shade Room below.

People really appreciated the moment and made sure to praise the rapper calling him the GOAT.

Someone commented: ‘Real ones know the original song from back in the days,’ and another follower posted this message: ‘It’s the remaining dreads that’s ready to fall out his head like ripe fruit on a tree.’

One other follower said: ‘Felt good to see and hear Wayne on the mic again,’ and someone else brought up Lil Wayne’s attitudes towards the BLM movement as well: ‘Tunechi The GOAT when it comes to music, but not so much when it comes to BLM movements! But that was a great performance.’

Another follower said: ‘Lil Wayne really the best rapper alive,’ and someone else posted this: ‘And he absolutely killed it.’

Speaking of the rapper and his views on the BLM movement, not too long ago, it’s been revealed that Lil Wayne has been sharing a different perspective on the current Black Lives Matter protests in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death at the hand of yet another case of police brutality.

Lil Wayne followed his previous controversial comments with a retelling of how a white cop saved his life at the age of 12.
