Katie Price's son Harvey, 18, rushed to hospital after needing ‘urgent medical attention’

Katie Price’s son Harvey Price, 18, has been taken to hospital “for tests” after falling ill on his younger sister Princess’ 13th birthday. The reality television star called an ambulance for her eldest child, who suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, after he showed symptoms which needed “urgent medical attention”.

A representative for Katie told The Sun: “Harvey has been taken to a local hospital for tests – he wasn’t feeling well yesterday and has today presented symptoms that require urgent medical attention.

“Katie recognised the signs and knew when to call an ambulance. He’s expected to be discharged later today.”

Alongside the rare genetic disorder Prader-Willi Syndrome, Harvey suffers from several other health complications including Septo-optic dysplasia, which has caused him to be blind.

He is also autistic and has an underactive thyroid and diabetes.

Junior turned 15 on June 13, two weeks after Harvey marked his 18th birthday during the coronavirus lockdown.

Although Harvey spends a lot of time at his mum’s home, Katie had to make the decision to move him into a residential care home last year.

The former glamour model opened up about her difficult choice during an appearance on ITV’s This Morning last year.

She said: “He is now six foot two, 24 stone and he’s still growing and he kicks off.

“I love him so much, he’s my absolute life, but he’s just hard work now.

“At his school they do boarding there. It’s taken me ages to be convinced it is the best place.”

Katie continued: “At least when he’s at school, he can do Monday to Friday after school club, I can still go up there and tuck him into bed and have dinner with him.

“[It’s] only Monday to Friday. Every weekend and holidays I will have him.”
