Queen Letizia style: Spanish royal steps out in beautiful £20 Zara dress in Gran Canaria

Queen Letizia, 47, was in Gran Canaria today for a visit with her husband, King Felipe VI. The King and Queen were visiting Las Palmas for the first time since the end of the lockdown in Spain. Queen Letizia looked effortlessly stylish as she dressed for the heat in a stunning gown and wedge heels.

To finish off the look, Queen Letizia paired the dress with cream-coloured espadrille wedges, one of her go-to summer styles.

The shoes were thought to be by another Spanish brand, Macarena.

The smart wedges feature ribbon-style tie straps for extra support.

The former news anchor wore her long dark hair tied back into a sleek ponytail for the event, with small dainty silver earrings.

The royals also had to wear face masks on the outing as though the lockdown has eased, it is still advised in the country.

It’s not the first time the King and Queen have been seen for royal engagements since the lockdown rules were lifted.

They also visited the Prado National Museum in Madrid earlier this month, with the Queen wearing a bold red dress and matching slingback heels for the occasion.

They were helping to launch the Spain For Sure campaign, which aims to attract foreign tourists back to the country now that it’s believed the worst of the pandemic is over. Spain was one of the worst-hit regions in Europe when the coronavirus broke out.

Queen Letizia isn’t the only one with a penchant for high street fashion.

British royals have previously been spotted wearing Zara clothes, including the Duchess of Cambridge who always causes an instant bestseller thanks to her loyal fashion fans.

The mother of three is also a fan of Ghost as well as ethical brand Beulah, which she has been spotted wearing in recent months.

Kate has been wearing a much more relaxed look than fans are used to in lockdown, but she is still causing many products to sell out as soon as she wears them.

Even her daughter Princess Charlotte is following in her fashion footsteps as mums around the UK copy the little one’s look for their own children.
