Minecraft 1.16 Nether update rolls out on Bedrock and Java with how to Changelog

The new Minecraft Nether update has been available for several hours in Bedrock and Java platforms and comes with a massive amount of changes.

As confirmed by developers Mojang, the Nether Update brings big new worlds to explore, with new biomes, mobs, and blocks available.

Then there is Netherite, a powerful new material that makes diamond look like cobblestone, according to the dev team.

A message from Mojang adds: “Beware the Piglins as you either trade blows or strike a deal. Avoid the hideous Hoglins, or hunt them for a snouty snack.

“Explore the Nether Wastes, search the Soulsand Valleys, traverse the Basalt Deltas, or venture into the Crimson and Warped Forests. But don’t forget to craft a respawn anchor. You know, just in case.

“It’s not like you’re going to get knocked into lava, or have a heated argument when bartering with a Piglin.”

For those looking to update their Minecraft game, the Nether patch is now available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, Windows 10, and more on the Bedrock version, and Windows, Mac OS, and Linux on the Java version.

Access to the free map requires the latest version of Minecraft Bedrock platform base-game with access to Minecraft Marketplace.

Mojang is also releasing a free Nether-themed adventure called “Way of the Nether” on Bedrock-powered platforms.

This includes a dimensional rift that has appeared in Poppy Isle and the mayor has gone missing. This leaves you to enter the Nether, figure out what happened, and save the mayor.
