The pair met while they both studied at the University of Sheffield where Dan did a masters in broadcast journalism.
The couple has three children together, son Chuck and daughters Susanna and Jessica.
Dan has previously spoken of how his wife wasn’t sure how his role on BBC Breakfast would affect the family.
