Britons love a holiday abroad in the summer due to the weather in the UK being especially unpredictable. Portugal, Spain and Greece are usually firm favourites for Britons looking to soak up the sun in the mediterranean.
But it seems this year, holiday trends have taken a turn.
Whereas sun, sand and dry weather were a priority, Britons are now looking for destinations that are coronavirus-free or with low case rates.
That means countries like Spain, Italy and the US, while still popular, may become less sought-after spots for holidays.
This week, the UK introduced its 14-day quarantine rules for anyone arriving in the country from abroad.

And anyone arriving back in the UK from a holiday in that country will also not face quarantine rules.
These plans are yet to get the full go-ahead but some reports suggest an “air bridge” agreement could be in place between the UK and Turkey.
But one holiday destination in particular has seen a sudden surge of interest from Britons.
Slovenia, which is the birthplace and former home of US First Lady Melania Trump, has seen a surge in search.
The country declared itself coronavirus-free in May.
Searches for the country on Skyscanner have surged by 35 percent this week.
In total, the country only recorded fewer than 1,500 coronavirus cases and 109 deaths.
Portugal, which has had a low coronavirus case rate compared to neighbouring Spain, has also seen a surge in interest on Skyscanner.
Flight searches for the country were up by 24 percent last week, according to the Daily Telegraph.
A spokesperson for Skyscanner told the Daily Telegraph that they have seen an increase in search activity for travel in 2020 and 2021.
They said: “We are seeing increasing search activity in the UK for travel during 2020 and 2021 as people begin to explore what their first trip after restrictions lift might be.
“While some countries around Europe are lifting border restrictions there is still no timeline for the UK, so any bookings made could be affected by coronavirus measures.
“As coronavirus is now a ‘known’ event, we strongly advise anyone looking for travel to make sure they are covered by their travel insurance policy.”
