Last night, the Night School star, Tiffany Haddish, appeared on the Late Night With Seth Meyers show and dished on what it was like to attend the memorial service for George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Tiffany joined the ranks of many celebrities and entertainers who went to the Trask Word and Worship Center this past week to remember Floyd, who died at the hands of the Minneapolis police. According to Haddish, she wanted to be there not only because she was invited, but also because her friends were “slaughtered” by the police.
Tiffany said on the show that she watched “people be murdered in front of (her)” as a 13-year-old girl. According to Haddish, there was nothing she could to do to stop it other than shout and yell.

When asked about the controversy regarding social media users who thought she was upset about not getting a shout out, Haddish said she didn’t care about it. According to the actress, as long as people are talking about the death of George Floyd, then there is at least some good being done.
In addition to a Minnesota memorial service, there were additional ones in North Carolina and Texas as well. Floyd was laid to rest in Houston this past Tuesday. The death of George Floyd was what led to the Black Lives Matter protests that kicked off around the world.
Since then, there have been calls across the entertainment industry and the Hollywood elite to use their platforms to make a difference. Many of them have spoken up about the protests, including Leonardo DiCaprio, who said he was “committed to learning” and taking action.

The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star shared an Instagram post in support of the movement this past week. Additionally, protestors and the entertainment elite have been calling for the defunding of police.
