For Honor Year 4 Season 2 update: Patch notes news and Server maintenance schedule

Ubisoft has announced its plans to update For Honor this week with Year 4 Season 2 content on PS4, Xbox One and PC. And while a new hero isn’t expected to arrive until August 2020, there’s plenty to look forward to following this week’s release. Ubisoft has revealed in early patch notes how they hope to rework the Centurion class, as well as provide a new event on the same day For Honor Season 2 – Tyranny, launches.

FOR HONOR YEAR 4 SEASON UPDATE AND RELEASE DATE NEWS

For Honor Year 4 Season 2 has a release date set for Wednesday, June 11, 2020, on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Named the Season of Tyranny by Ubisoft, the new season of action will be kicked off after scheduled For Honor server maintenance.

Server downtime will begin at around 5pm GMT on June 11, and will last around 90 minutes.

This means that the new For Honor Season 2 update should be available to download at 6:30pm GMT.

The new For Honor update will include the new Centurion rework, and the Test Your Metal event.

This had led to changes to certain cut scenes, as well as big tweaks being made to the character’s moveset.

A message from the Ubisoft development team goes further into the changes made to the Centurion, telling fans:

“Centurion suffered from some problems in his fight kit – his offence never forced a reaction from the opponent in 1v1 scenarios and didn’t offer much in team fights besides his powerful ability to gank through inconsistent revenge-armour and binding rules.

“This meant that Centurion was basically forced to turtle in 1v1s until a parry allows the cutscene, or gank into the cutscene in 4v4 scenarios. This was very limiting for the Centurion, and frustrating for the opponent.

“As we try to improve the Centurion, we would like to see him initiate and sustain offense and also reduce his ability to bind an opponent into certain death.

“We expect the Centurion to now have a viable (although sometimes risky) options in 1v1 and team fights, allowing him to initiate combat and sustain offensive pressure.

“Between Legion Kick, Eagle’s Fury, and the improved forward movement, we feel Centurion should be able to impose himself on the battlefield more often. At the same time, we feel that making the binding rules consistent with other characters, changing the cutscene to allow interaction, and reducing Stun + Stamina Damage should make the Centurion less frustrating to play against.”

Ubisoft has also confirmed that a new hero and a core combat update are coming to the game, however, these are not scheduled to go live until August 2020.

The other big news regarding this week’s For Honor update is the return of the Metal Trials, which will be going live on June 11.

Players this time will be testing their metal in front of a crowd of spectators. Gamers will be able to group up with three friends and battle campaign mode powerhouses like Tozen, Gudmundr, and Apollyon for the enjoyment of the spectators.

Ubisoft has also confirmed that bosses receive bonuses if the players win a Bo7 round.
