Steph McGovern: BBC Breakfast host gives insight into home life 'I'm still s**t at it'

TV presenter Steph McGovern, 37, spoke about her home life on social media last night and made a candid admission in the process.

The former BBC Breakfast star, who lives with her partner and their seven-month-old daughter, told her 403,000 Twitter followers she was trying to improve her culinary skills, but to no avail.

New mum Steph, who on top of raising a newborn baby recently hosted her new self-titled Channel 4 show from her living room amid the coronavirus pandemic, was hoping to take on more domestic duties as she is not working at the moment.

The TV star joked that she was still “s**t at it” despite all the extra practice during lockdown.

Steph wrote online: “I have always avoided cooking. Fortunately my partner is a fab cook. BUT given I am not working much at the mo and she is, I thought it right to take on more domestic duties.

“I was waiting for you to list your recipes…” added another Twitter user, to which Steph jokingly replied: “You’ll be waiting a while.”

When asked what her best dish was, the television host said: “The ‘best’ one is eggs on toast. I know that’s not hard, but I am sooo proud of myself for actually being able to boil an egg.”

Steph’s local takeaway company also appeared in the comments section to add: “And that is exactly why the @fatbadgerpub takeaway exists…. purely to be there when you fall down… it’s just what we do.”

Giving an insight into her Saturday night ritual, the presenter replied: “And it’s funny how I seem to fall down every Saturday [laughing emoji].

“Ps. We cheated on you on Saturday. Was terrible. Won’t be doing that again,” she went on to say.
