Childbirth is a difficult task in the best of times. During the coronavirus pandemic, it’s an undertaking fraught with new uncertainties. While studies suggest pregnant women are no more at risk than anyone else of contracting the virus, there are reports that women in labor who don’t have any signs of infection may rapidly develop severe symptoms.
We would like to hear from women, especially women of color, who have delivered within the past month. What was your experience delivering a baby during the coronavirus outbreak? If you gave birth in a hospital, did the hospital outline its policies to you, making it clear what were your choices and what weren’t?
