Amanda Holden: BGT star talks 'cutting through b******t' in husband admission

Britain’s Got Talent star Amanda Holden tied the knot with her husband Chris Hughes in 2008 and the couple share two daughters together, Alexa, 14 and Hollie, eight. The 48-year-old singer has now opened up about her marriage as she revealed her beau “keeps her sane” amid cruel comments on social media.

Amanda gushed about her “strong” husband and added that she is “lucky” to have him.

Speaking to the Daily Star Sunday, the BGT star was full of praise for her spouse and the support he gives her, saying: “I’ve got a very strong husband who is very sensible and not like me in any way.

“He cuts through all the bull***t and keeps me sane.”

Her comments come as she addressed social media trolls online.

The couple, who have been married for over 11 years, wed in an intimate ceremony at Babington House in Somerset.

Elsewhere, the ITV star has previously come under fire for her risque outfits during the Britain’s Got Talent live shows, which are aired before the watershed.

Her ensembles have included some boob-baring dresses which some viewers have said are not appropriate for a family show.

She previously addressed the controversy, and said she sometimes pretends she’s not “aware” of herself when it comes to some of the things she wears.

She told The Sun: “Even though I am really open and very much myself most of the time, it’s a fake circumstance when you’re sitting on a panel and judging.

“I’m very aware of myself and what I should say next.

“Sometimes I pretend I’m not and I’m outrageous, and I’m like, ‘Oh I had no idea I was going to say that’, or my boob pops out, ‘I had no idea that was going to happen!’”

Amanda was previously married to presenter and comedian Les Dennis after tying the knot in 1994.

The former couple divorced in 2003 and she went on to marry her beau Chris five years later.

Last week, Amanda stunned her fans by revealing she had appeared in BBC soap EastEnders back in the 1990s.

Speaking on Heart FM Breakfast Show, the radio DJ said: “When I left drama school, EastEnders was one of the first jobs I got.

“I had to look after someone’s stall for half an hour which was like four episodes or something.”
