Selena Gomez Joins #immigrad And Congratulates All The Graduating Students From Immigrant Families – Check Out Her Inspiring Message!

The singer had some very inspiring words for all the graduating students who come from immigrant families! Here is what she had to say as part of the ‘Immigrad 2020 Virtual Commencement.’

As you know, because of the current pandemic and social distancing orders that come with it, many of the graduating ceremonies as well as dances and proms have been canceled all over the country!

At least they got a surprise message from none other than Selena Gomez, who addressed the #Immigrads earlier today!

The superstar made sure to congratulate the students graduating and reminded them to be proud of their academic achievements even though they can’t celebrate properly because of the lockdown orders.

She started with: ‘I want you guys to know that you really matter and that all your experiences are a huge part of the whole American story. When my family came from Mexico they set into motion my American story, as well as theirs. I am a proud third generation American-Mexican and my family’s journey and all of their sacrifices helped me get me to where I am today.’

The songstress went on to stress that ‘regardless of where your family’s from, regardless of your immigration status, you have taken the action to earn an education, make your families proud, and open up your worlds. I am sending all of my love to all you guys today and congratulations and I truly hope that you guys are set off to be everything you want to be.’

As you might already be aware, the whole #Immigrad 2020 Virtual Commencement was a celebration for graduating students coming from immigrant families as well as supporters of immigrant rights.
