Anderson Cooper Opens Up About Co-Parenting His Baby Boy With Benjamin Maisani Despite Not Being Together Anymore!

As you might know, Anderson Cooper is a new dad since he welcomed son Wyatt not too long ago! That being said, during a new interview, the CNN anchor got candid about co-parenting the newborn with his ex, Benjamin Maisani.

While on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show earlier today, Cooper was asked about his decision to include him in Wyatt’s life.

He explained that ‘I don’t really have a family, so my friends have become my family. This is somebody I was involved with for 10 years. “He’s a great guy. We didn’t work out as a couple but … if more people love my son and are in his life, I’m all for that. My ex is a great guy, and I think it’s good to have two parents if you can.’

The anchor went on to reveal that since Maisani is French, the co-parents are planning on teaching the baby to call him ‘papa’ when he starts talking.

As for Anderson, he wants to go by either ‘dad’ or ‘daddy.’

This is not the first time he opens up about his co-parenting relationship with his ex.

Earlier in the month, he was on the Late Show With Stephen Colbert when he also mentioned it.

The two have been over since March of 2018 but obviously remain close friends regardless.

‘He’s going to be a co-parent to Wyatt even though we’re not together anymore. He’s my family, and I want him to be Wyatt’s family as well,’ Anderson explained at the time.

Previously, Cooper was super excited to share the news about becoming a dad and did so on air!

‘I want to share with you all some joyful news. On Monday, I became a father. This is Wyatt Cooper. He is 3 days old. He’s named after my father, who died when I was only 10. I hope I can be as good a dad as he was. My son’s middle name is Morgan. It is a family name on my mom’s side,’ he shared.
