Earlier this week, Tekashi 6ix9ine began making waves again on social media with an Instagram Live session in addition to a brand new song and music video, “GOOBA.” In case you missed it, 6ix9ine addressed the snitching allegations during his IG Live session at length.
The formerly incarcerated rapper explained that he had no loyalty to the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods because of the way they treated him. He cited a number of egregious examples, including stealing, extortion, and even sleeping with the mother of his child while he was on tour.
Tekashi 6ix9ine claimed it simply wasn’t worth it. He didn’t want to sacrifice the rest of his life just so men who betrayed him wouldn’t face incarceration. Several of his former associates have seen been convicted and sentenced.
Moving past the Instagram Live appearence, Tekashi 6ix9ine also made records on YouTube after the release of “GOOBA.” Chart Data, on Twitter, reported that the music video for the song got the most views for any music video in the history of YouTube, at least in the hip-hop genre.
In other words, “GOOBA” was the fastest climbing hip-hop video on YouTube, ever, even beating out the likes of Eminem and Drake. HipHopNMore estimated that the video had 43 million views by the end of the day.
Now, the video has over 61 million views. The last time a music video on YouTube accrued that many views was “Killshot” from Eminem – a diss-track response to Machine Gun Kelly.
As it was reported yesterday, Tekashi 6ix9ine also broke the record for the highest number of views for an Instagram Livestream as well. He beat Tory Lanez’s IG Live Stream, which the “Let’s Be Friends” rapper later addressed.
Tory Lanez previously held the record for 300,000 views. Tekashi 6ix9ine’s reputation in the industry has been tarnished, however. Artists such as Meek Mill, among others, have been slamming Daniel Hernandez on social media ever since he was released.

Regardless of public opinion, there’s no question that Tekashi 6ix9ine is a massive draw on social media platforms.
