Yakuza: Like A Dragon Coming To Xbox Series X

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is a departure from the series in several important ways. Real-time battles have been swapped for RPG-like menu interactions (which work surprisingly well, as it turns out), and longtime protagonist Kazuma Kiryu is taking a break so new character Ichiban Kasuga can take the spotlight. One of the most exciting changes, for Western audiences at least, is that it will be coming to Xbox at launch. The games have been brought over to Microsoft’s platform over the last few years, but Like a Dragon is the first entry to get a simultaneous launch on both PlayStation and Xbox consoles.

To mark the occasion, Sega showed off a new trailer for the game during today’s Inside Xbox presentation. It highlighted betrayals, barbed-wire-wrapped baseball bats, satellite attacks, and … giant lobsters? In short, it looks like it’s continuing the blend of action and insanity that the series is known for.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon will be coming to Xbox Series X and Xbox One consoles, in addition to PlayStation 4. If you’re not quite sure you want to upgrade to Microsoft’s next console but still want to keep your options open, Like a Dragon will support Smart Delivery and Cross-saves. Essentially, if you purchase the game on Xbox One, you’ll be able to enjoy the additional features and performance upgrades that the new hardware provides via a software update at no extra cost. Plus, your saves will transfer from the Xbox One to the Xbox Series X console.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is coming to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2020.
