Adele marked her 32nd birthday on Tuesday with a post on Instagram that has social media talking. She didn’t release any new music or say something controversial in the caption. Instead, the singer posted a picture of herself wearing a black dress and heels, and the significant amount of weight she has recently lost made her nearly unrecognizable.
“Thank you for the birthday love. I hope you’re all staying safe and sane during this crazy time,” wrote Adele in the caption. “I’d like to thank all of our first responders and essential workers who are keeping us safe while risking their lives! You are truly our angels ♥️ 2020 okay bye thanks x.”
There have been a handful of paparazzi pics published in recent months that gave fans a peak at Adele’s weight loss, which insider say is more than 100 pounds. However, the Instagram pic that the Hello singer posted quickly grabbed attention from all over the globe. Fans couldn’t believe the transformation. Chrisy Teigen wrote: “I mean are you kidding me,” and The Ellen Show employee Kalen Allen wrote: “THAT WAIST IS SNATCHEDDDDDDD!!!!”
Colombian YouTube star Lulu99 wrote that they didn’t recognize Adele, and added that the singer is beautiful. Spanish TV personality Nagore Robles wrote that Adele worked hard to look the way she does now, but she wanted the singer to know that to her she was always a “spectacular, beautiful, and sexy woman.”
The 15-time Grammy winner’s transformation brought her a ton of praise on social media, but some fans criticized the fact that she was receiving an overwhelming amount of attention because of her drastic weight loss. One wrote that when they saw Adele was trending they thought it was because she released new music. They were disappointed to find out that the discussion was about the singer’s body and weight.
