Stocks and a Jar Full of Soup Mix-Ins

The chef Marco Canora, who owns Hearth in the East Village and who has also opened a string of Brodo storefronts selling broth (brodo in Italian), has created new soup kits for pickup and limited delivery from the Brodo shops. They consist of big Instagram-friendly jars layered with ingredients like cooked grains, pulses, vegetables, greens and seasonings, including sofrito, the base made with carrots, celery onions and garlic. Add them to a simmering pot of one of Mr. Canora’s plain beef, chicken or mushroom broths, and you have hearty soup for two to four. Bolster them with slivers of meat, tofu or chicken, if you like. Individual containers of Brodo broths are also sold frozen for delivery nationwide.

Brodo soups; ingredient jars, $9; broths, $19 for 30 ounces, order.brodo.com/order.
