The coronavirus has forced many couples to make difficult decisions about their living arrangements. For some, their proximity to virus hot spots has caused them to shelter in place separately, while others have expedited their decision to move in together out of necessity. (And, in some cases, the pandemic has played a role in their breakup.)

In this week’s Modern Love essay, a couple who spent their entire marriage in separate cities finds themselves living under the same roof for the first time in 13 years because of the coronavirus outbreak.

And, while some couples are learning to navigate the nuances of life in isolation together, others are trying to move their relationship forward with quarantine-approved wedding ceremonies performed in driveways and porches around the country.
