Nick Cannon’s New Daytime Talk Show Will Premiere In September

Nick Cannon will officially debut his new talk show this fall, according to a new report. The distributor for the show – Debmar-Mercury – confirmed this week that the nationally-syndicated show titled Nick Cannon will launch on September 21st.

Variety is reporting that Lionsgate’s Debmar-Mercury teamed up with Cannon’s Ncredible Entertainment to produce the comedic talk show that will include interviews with celebrities and coverage of pop culture.

The show has been officially cleared to launch in the fall and the syndicated series will cover about 90 percent of U.S. television households. It has already been picked up by numerous station groups, including CBS, Fox, Sinclair, Meredith, Hearst, Nexstar, and Tegna.

The announcement of the September launch indicates that everyone involved is confident that the show will be able to start filming episodes in the summer.

“It’s been thrilling going through this process, and to see the widespread support that the show has received and the milestones we’ve achieved is mind-blowing,” said Cannon in a statement. “We’re gearing up to deliver a must-see show and I’m looking forward to coming to you on your TV this fall.”

Debmar-Mercury believes that Cannon’s history as a guest host on The Wendy Williams Show, as well as his hosting gigs on The Masked Singer and Wild ‘N Out, make him the perfect candidate to host his own daily talk show.

The company’s co-presidents – Ira Bernstein and Mort Marcus – said in a statement that clearances for Nick Cannon are climbing because their station partners are “hungry” for a “rising, versatile, and dynamic” talent like Cannon.

They added that Nick Cannon’s light-hearted style quickly wins over viewers while giving them a much-needed escape from the world. Bernstein and Marcus explained that many have asked why they skipped doing test shows, and the answer is that there was no need.

“It’s obvious to anyone who watched Nick guest host for Wendy Williams last year how much he loves daytime talk and, based on the reaction of fans, how much they love him,” said Bernstein and Marcus.
