Jim Edmonds Reveals He Tested Positive For COVID-19, But Is Now ‘Symptom Free’

St. Louis Cardinals Hall-Of-Famer Jim Edmonds – the estranged husband of Real Housewives of Orange County alum, Meghan King Edmonds – has revealed that he did test positive for COVID-19 when he was in the emergency room last weekend. But now, he says he is symptom free and feeling better.

Edmonds took to his Instagram Story on Wednesday to tell his fans that he tested positive for both pneumonia and the coronavirus. After feeling “super sick” and getting himself to the hospital, he says he is now “doing really well.”

“I appreciated everyone who has said well wishes,” the 49-year-old MLB all-star said. “I did test positive for pneumonia and I did get a test back positive for the virus. I must have had it for a while before I got tested. Thank God I quarantined myself and listened to what everyone said and kept our curve at our house flattened.”

Edmonds – who is the father of five – also revealed that one of his daughters has been tested for COVID-19, and they are waiting on the results of that test. As of right now, Edmonds says the daughter who was tested is symptom-free. Edmonds insisted that his family was doing “really well,” and he has been cleaning his garage and losing his mind. However, Edmonds says that in all fairness, he is happy to be feeling better and doing great.

He added some advice for his fans, saying that if they don’t feel good and can’t breathe, they need to go to the doctor or to the emergency room because “that’s what happened to me.” Edmonds urged his followers to “not take this lightly.”

The Fox Sports Midwest broadcaster explained that hospital staff didn’t want to test him, but he forced them to take him to the emergency room. It turned out he had pneumonia and COVID-19, but there is no medicine. Instead, he recovered with “nothing but rest.”

Jim Edmonds posted a pic over the weekend from the hospital that featured him wearing a hospital mask and getting oxygen. He said that he held off as long as he could and he thought he was tough enough to get through. But, “the virus is no joke.”

Edmonds’ estranged wife, Meghan King Edmonds, says that she is keeping the three children she shares with Jim – Aspen, 3, and twins Hart and Hayes, 21 months – with her until the end of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“At the advice of our pediatrician, we have decided that our kids are gonna stay where they were when this whole safer-at-home started,” Meghan said on March 24 via her Instagram Story. “It was with me, so they’re gonna stay with me until this passes. Stay safe, guys.”
