Mike Bushell’s wife urges ‘never under estimate’ him as his sleepless nights revealed

Mike Bushell’s wife has urged people to “never underestimate” her husband’s passion and capabilities, after telling her followers how much he cares and loves his work. Emily Bushell revealed the reality of his sleepless nights on Twitter on Thursday.

The BBC presenter’s spouse told Twitter just how much Mike loves and cares about his job and the work, after he revealed what he had been up to.

He said: “Coming 2 @BBCBreakfast on Saturday the return of sporting features aimed at getting people off the sofa and trying new exercise. It’s aeriel hoops and aeriel yoga. Great for upper body and core @LeedsAerialArts and the start of training for my time with @maxwhitlock1 @homeonfilm.”

Soon after his post, Emily replied: “Never under estimate how much Mike loves and cares about these pieces and how much head space and time goes into the three minutes of magic on a Saturday morning. #BBCBreakfast @mikebreakfast @homeonfilm.”

In response to his wife’s heartfelt message, Mike mentioned that he sometimes doesn’t sleep due to “planning in his head”.

Mike wrote: “Aw thanks darling. You know how much I care and why I don’t sleep sometimes planning in my head.”

The author then went on to say that although he isn’t the “sporty type”, trying a new sport can change your life.

“I’ve had so much amazing feedback from people who have been inspired and how sport/trying something new can change lives and especially for the non sporty types like me,” he added.

One fan replied to his response and said Mike had inspired their dad.

The Leeds Aerial Arts Studio also tweeted about Mike’s visit for BBC Breakfast, and was happy to welcome him to the team.

They wrote on Twitter: “So great to have @mikebreakfast from @BBCBreakfast in the Studio today! Welcome to team #leedsaerialarts.”

The sport presenter was welcomed back with open arms by BBC Breakfast, after his six month break away from the studio while on Strictly Come Dancing alongside dance partner Katya Jones.

Among Mike and Katya were winners Kelvin Fletcher and Oti Mabuse, Catherine Tyldesley and Johannes Radebe, Dev Griffin and Dianne Buswell, and many more.

Happy to return to Breakfast, he shared his excitement with his fans on Twitter and said: “Next stop @BBCBreakfast after 6 months away @bbcstrictly I’ll finally be introduced to the new red sofa tomorrow and be lovely to see colleagues again including new boss @BBCFrediani.”

“So much sport to get teeth into again,” Mike added.

Strictly Come Dancing’s 2019 winner Kelvin Fletcher gave Mike his best as he said: “Good luck Mike. I’ll be watching mate x.”

One of Mike’s colleagues, Matt Taylor was also excited to see Mike announcing his return: “Whoohoooo! Welcome back fella!!!”(sic)
