Caroline Flack cause of death confirmed as suicide by hanging, inquest hears

Love Island presenter Caroline Flack, 40, was found dead at her flat in London last weekend. A lawyer for the family later confirmed she had taken her own life.

Today, her cause of death was confirmed as hanging, an inquest in London hears.

Her family have not attended Poplar Coroner’s Court for her inquest today.

The coroner Sarah Bourke has reminded those present not to make a sound recording during the hearing.

It is likely the inquest will be adjourned for several weeks to allow time for the coroner to gather evidence.

Caroline is believed to have been alone when she was discovered dead at her flat on February 15.

Ahead of the inquest today, her family released an unpublished post from the late presenter.

Her mum Christine told Eastern Daily Press she wanted to show Caroline’s fans how she really felt in recent weeks.

As part of the lengthy statement, Caroline Flack said she had been “having some sort of emotional breakdown for a very long time”.
