Cheryl boyfriend: The PAINFUL reason behind Cheryl and Liam Payne’s split

The Greatest Dancer is on screens on Saturday nights with judges Cheryl, Oti Mabuse, Matthew Morrison and new addition Todrick Hall. The dancing foursome are hoping to find the next greatest dancing star.

Ex-Girls Aloud star Cheryl has returned to The Greatest Dancer and is this year hoping to mentor a dancer through to the finals.

Off-screen, Cheryl is the happy mother of two-year-old Bear Payne, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Liam Payne.

Speaking of motherhood Cheryl told The Telegraph: “Everything changed for me from the moment Bear was born.

“My old brain came out of my head, and all my worries, anxieties and feelings of emptiness went, and a new brain replaced it.”

Cheryl has even spoken of having a second child, saying having just one is “unimaginable”.

She told Metro of having a second baby: “I would like to, honestly. Not just for Bear having a sibling.

“I grew up with a lot of siblings so I can’t imagine having an only child.”

Now co-parenting their two-year-old son Bear, Cheryl and Liam split in June 2018, revealing their decision to part ways in a joint Twitter statement.

“They’re so important to me — Cheryl as well.”

Another element Liam and Cheryl parting ways was apparently the Strip That Down singer not “understanding” what Cheryl was going through as a new mum.

He told Heat magazine: “The one thing I was missing as a man in the relationship I had, was a level understanding about what she was feeling about stuff.

“I think I learnt through away being that, while I want to protect her, there’s a big part of her that wants to protect me.”

Cheryl, 36, also gave an insight into the break up in an interview.

The star told The Sunday Times’ Style magazine how Liam, 24, had dreamt of being a dad since he was 16-years-old.

However, Cheryl admitted it may have been hard for the former One Direction star.

The Fight For This Love singer said Liam ‘maybe’ felt excluded after she formed such a close bond with their son.

She said: ”So [Liam] wanted to settle down and have a family and not do the solo thing.

“Then we encouraged him to do that. And then it didn’t work out.”

When Cheryl was asked if Liam realised settling down with a family was something he didn’t want after all she responded: “You’ll have to ask him that.”

The Greatest Dancer is on BBC One at 6.30pm on Saturdays
