Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has special reason for Takumi Minamino snub at Norwich

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was forced to leave Takumi Minamino out of his squad for the trip to Norwich. The Reds are finally back in action and have not played since the FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury, in which the club’s academy side were fielded.

There was one surprise omission from the squad when Liverpool’s line up was released though.

Takumi Minamino was not even among the substitutes, leaving some fans fearing that their new signing may have picked up an injury.

But that is not the case, with The Athletic claiming Minamino has simply been left out due to the number of options.

Naby Keita’s return to fitness has seen Minamino fall further down the pecking order and when Xherdan Shaqiri returns there will be even more competition.
