Billie Eilish Drops New James Bond Theme Song ‘No Time To Die’

Grammy-winning artist Billie Eilish has just released the new theme song for the upcoming James Bond flick No Time To Die. The 18-year-old – who claimed on the Oscars red carpet that performing a James Bond theme was a “life goal” – is the youngest artist to write and record a theme song in the film franchise’s history.

No Time To Die stars Daniel Craig in his final outing as 007, and the title track was produced by Eilish’s brother Finneas and Stephen Lipson. According to People magazine, Hans Zimmer and Matt Dunkley did the orchestral arrangements with Johnny Marr on the guitar.

Eilish will reportedly perform the song for the first time at the Brit Awards in London on February 18th, and Finneas, Zimmer, and Marr will accompany her.

“It feels crazy to be a part of this in every way,” said Eilish in a statement. “To be able to score the theme song to a film that is part of such a legendary series is a huge honor. James Bond is the coolest film franchise ever to exist. I’m still in shock.”

Finneas added that writing a theme song for a Bond film is something that he and his sister have always dreamed about their entire lives. And, he believes there is no more iconic pairings of music and cinema than the likes of Goldfinger and Live and Let Die.

The 22-year-old producer says that he and Eilish feel “so lucky” to play a small role in the legendary film franchise, and he finished his statement with “Long live 007.”

The film’s producers – Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli – said in their statement that Billie and Finneas’ theme is “incredibly powerful and moving,” and it was “impeccably crafted to work within the emotional story of the film.”

Director Cary Joji Fukunaga added that very few are chosen to record a Bond theme, and the brother and sister duo’s creative integrity and talent are second to none. He said he can’t wait for audiences to hear their fresh new perspective and the “vocals will echo for generations to come.”
