Novak Djokovic explodes into fit of rage by smashing racquet in ATP Cup semi-final

Novak Djokovic often plays on the edge of emotion but he let his anger get the better of him against Daniil Medvedev in the ATP Cup. Djokovic was playing at the top of his level in the first set, taking it comfortably 6-1.

And the world No 2 continued in the same vein by immediately breaking Medvedev in the second set.

The Russian though broke back straight away after a tense second game with Medvedev eventually getting the break with his fourth attempt.

It came courtesy of a rare unforced error from Djokovic as he sent a forehand long.

And Djokovic erupted into a fit of rage as he took out his anger on his racquet.

The 32-year-old turned around immediately before furiously smashing racquet to the floor three times before slowly walking back to his team zone.

Djokovic then nonchalantly chucked his broken racquet away before taking a seat where he attempted to regain his composure.

But things went from bad to worse for Djokovic as Medvedev got his second break of the set to take a 4-1 lead.

The momentum was with the world No 5 it seemed, but Djokovic soon began to find his rhythm again.
