To discover the best things to do across the world, Time Out compiled a list of key things to visit and take part in both abroad and on home soil.
The list, which takes advice from local experts on unique experiences, found Paris’ urban farms were the best thing to check out this year.
Celebrating the future of agriculture, Paris’s historic Porte de Versailles exhibition centre will host the biggest rooftop farm in the world on May 1. The social enterprise will host workshops and supply produce to nearby businesses and food schemes.
According to Time Out, the farm is run by urban farming experts Agripolis and is expected to yield a daily harvest of nearly 1,000 organic fruits and vegetables.

The iconic shoes worn by Judy Garland in The Wizard of Oz will be on display along with Jack Nicholson’s corduroy jacket from The Shining, making this the perfect exhibition to visit for cinephiles.
From Los Angeles to New York City, visiting the Edge – a triangular platform at the top of New York’s new 20 Hudson Yards building – is listed at number four. The Edge will open in March and provide panoramic views of the entire city. The 1,131-foot-high-observation deck makes this the tallest man-made viewing platform in the western hemisphere.
Also making the list was visiting a digital art submarine in Bordeaux, France; taking in the Nick Cave exhibition in Copenhagen, Denmark; indulging in Madrid’s flamenco scene in Spain; visiting the picturesque coastal city of Galway, Ireland; bracing the city waters at a floating Arctic Hotel in Swedish Lapland, and celebrating 50 years of Glastonbury at the iconic festival in Somerset.
