Strictly Come Dancing stars Katya Jones, 30, and Neil Jones, announced their split in a joint statement in August last year. But now the Russian-born dancer has spilled on her former husband and his dance partner Alex Scott, 35, who were paired together on the BBC dance series.
Katya admitted the former couple “still talk” regularly and expressed her excitement that Neil was finally given the chance to train up a famous face.
Speaking about him getting a celebrity dance partner, Katya told Express.co.uk: “It’s exciting. I don’t know more but he really enjoyed it. He had an amazing time with Alex.”
The Latin champion also gushed over the football pundit and described her as a “powerful” contestant, who showed a lot of “passion” on the dance floor.
“They got through to Musicals Week. Of course it’s exciting to see when you can finally rely on your talent and knowledge,” Katya explained.

“What a great celebrity Alex is too. So passionate and so powerful. So brilliant. It was nice to see him do what he does best. Definitely.”
The pro dancer also addressed her relationship with Neil following there split and admitted the pair still support each other’s work.
Katya divulged: “We still talk. Now that I’m doing pantomime he is still going to come and watch me hopefully. It’s in Peterborough so it’s a bit of travel. It’s fantastic, really good.
“He’s got his projects coming up. I’ve got my projects which we share with each other. It’s good.”
She continued: “I think [theatre] naturally fits me and I was so excited. Neil said he would try and watch it.”
The British dancer made good on his promise as he was spotted supporting Katya during her debut pantomime performance last month.
The former couple first tied the knot in 2013, with Neil joining the Strictly line-up in 2016 and Katya did the same, the following year.
Katya and Neil split 10 months after she was pictured kissing her former dance partner Seann Walsh during a night out in London.
