Renee Zellweger States That Portraying Judy Garland Was One Of Her Life’s Biggest ‘Blessings’ After Receiving Best Actress Award At The Golden Globes

Renee Zellweger was honored with the award for Best Actress in a Drama Movie at the Golden Globes last night and it’s safe to say she really deserves it! The star looked amazing as well in her baby blue gown and when she approached the mic to deliver her acceptance speech, she captivated the whole audience with her elegant way of speaking and her look in general.

The actress made sure to thank a lot of different people, particularly her co-stars and crew without whom she wouldn’t have been able to portray Judy Garland so well!

‘Thank you! My! I really am up here. Hi, everybody, it’s nice to see you. Y’all look pretty good, 17 years later. Thank you to the HFPA for inviting me back to the family reunion, especially with all these extraordinary ladies this year. I mean it, your work moves me. It moves me. And I’ve been cheering for y’all from theater seats for a long time being on a list with you is cool,’ the actress began her speech.

Renee definitely deserved the trophy since she was nominated alongside other really talented people such as Cynthia Erivo, Saoirse Ronan and Charlize Theron!

That being said, she just had to mention these amazing women in her speech too but also celebrated the woman she portrayed.

‘Celebrating one of the great icons of all time with you has been one of my life blessings and the people who want to express their love for Judy Garland and tell about the great personal significance of her legacy and her humanity, has been a great reminder that the choices that we make matters what we make matters and how we choose to honor each other in our lifetimes can matter a great deal down the road.’
