Man Utd transfer news LIVE: Fernandes development, double deal talks, Real Madrid blow

Bruno Fernandes update

Manchester United have revived their interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder Bruno Fernandes.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is desperate to sign an attacking midfielder in the January transfer window as his side struggle to create changes.

Portugal international Fernandes was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford during the summer but ultimately ended up staying with the Primeira Liga outfit.

Fernandes has continued to impress for Sporting this season, scoring six goals and registering seven assists from 13 league matches so far.

And Goal claim United are looking at the prospect of bringing the 25-year-old to Old Trafford during the transfer window.

Real Madrid update

Liverpool icon Steve Nicol has slammed rumours of Toni Kroos quitting Real Madrid for Manchester United, insisting he would not want to head to Old Trafford.

“Why would Toni Kroos go to Man United?” Nicol said on ESPN FC.

“He’s 30 years of age, he’s won almost everything there is to win… unless he’s lost that desire to win things, why’s he going to Man United?

“Man United are a ways off of winning a major tournament – two or three years away.

“Does Toni Kroos want to go to United and maybe win the FA Cup or Carabao Cup? Because that’s where United are right now.

“There’s no guarantees whether it’s going to be next season, the season after that or the season after that when they’re competing at the highest level.

“I think Toni Kroos is still important to Real Madrid.”

Wolves double deal

Manchester United have moved to open talks about a double transfer deal for Wolves stars Ruben Neves and Raul Jimenez.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ready to bring in a new midfielder and striker before the transfer window shuts.

And, now, Goal claim United are in talks with Wolves over a deal to sign Jimenez.

Jimenez isn’t the only Wolves star on United’s transfer radar, however.

The report claims the Red Devils have also reached out to the representatives of Ruben Neves.
