Louise Redknapp, 45, who shares her two sons Charley, 15, and Beau, 11, with ex-husband Jamie Redknapp, 46, admitted “heartbreak is a killer” in a candid post yesterday. The singer revealed she had faced her “toughest” year in 2019 which had presented it’s many “challenges”.
In view of her 666,000 Instagram followers, the former Eternal bandmate shared a series of photos – including her highlights from last year.
The heartfelt post read: “I don’t often open up on social media, but tonight seems like a good time to. Creatively this year has been my best yet writing and recording my new album Heavy Love and performing in the west end, but emotionally it has been my toughest year and I’ve faced challenges I never thought I would.”
She continued: “Heartbreak is a killer so I want to thank my boys, my family, my friends and all of you who have been kind over the last 12 months. So let’s take on 2020 like we mean it!”
Fans inundated the star with messages of support, as one person said: “Heartbreak is the worst pain. But with your best girls (and boys) right beside you, you’ll get there. Happy new year.”

Another person commented: “You’re incredible! Happy 2020! It’s gonna be massive.”
While a third person added: “It’s such a joy to see you back. Not only that, you have released some of the best pop music in the last handful of years. I’m so excited for the tour, the album and HMV event. Looking forward to celebrating even more in 2020.”
The former Eternal bandmate later shared the same cryptic message via her Instagram stories.
Louise tied the knot with the football pundit Jamie in 1998 until the pair decided to separate 19 years later in 2017.
The couple’s divorce was finalised the following year but the pair have remained friends.
Speaking about their split at the time, Louise told Eamonn Holmes on This Morning: “I think that it has been so heavily documented and of course we all go through hard times.
“My priority and his priority is our children and protecting them and keeping as much of it as private as possible and loving them and putting them first and that’s what we’re focusing on.”
Meanwhile, the performer appeared to be letting her hair down as she teased her New Year’s Eve plans via the picture-sharing site.
The Stretch hitmaker wrote: “What’s everybody’s plans for NYE?”
Fans flocked to comment on the post, as one person said: “I’d like to say I was gonna party like it was 2020, but I think it’s more likely to be staying in.”
Another person quipped: “I’m coming to your house for some Tequila shots hahaha.”(sic)
Meanwhile, Louise has had a busy schedule in recent months – from her stage work in 9 to 5 The Musical to working on her latest album Heavy Love, which is set to be released this month.
